2tonnes

Collective simulation workshop to explore how to reduce your carbon footprint and achieve a lifestyle of 2 tons of CO2 per year.

Key scientific facts

The workshop is based on the IPCC recommendations, which stipulate that to limit global warming to 1.5°C, CO2 emissions per person must be reduced to 2 tonnes by 2050. Today, the global average is around 4.5 tonnes per year, with significant disparities between countries. The workshop uses simulations based on scientific data to help participants visualize the impacts of their actions.

Process and duration

The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours and begins with an assessment of the participants' individual carbon footprint. Then, through a collective simulation, they explore different actions (changing eating habits, energy transition, reducing travel) and their effects on reducing CO2 emissions. The final phase is dedicated to building a personal action plan to achieve 2 tons of CO2 per year.

What is it about ?

The 2tonnes Workshop is an immersive and interactive experience that allows participants to visualize their carbon footprint and explore the actions they can take to reduce it. The objective is to understand how to go from an average individual carbon footprint of 10 tons per year to 2 tons, in line with climate objectives.

Why is it essential ?

To limit global warming to 1.5°C, each citizen must drastically reduce their carbon footprint. This workshop highlights the levers of action available to everyone and allows for a proactive approach in the fight against climate change. By making individuals responsible for their impact and giving them concrete tools, the 2tonnes workshop contributes to awareness and action.
