CLIMATE FRESK
Collaborative workshop to understand the causes and consequences of climate change through scientific knowledge.
What is it about ?
The Climate Fresk is an educational and fun tool to understand the complex mechanisms of climate change. Designed as a card game, this workshop allows participants to reconstruct, in a collaborative manner, the cause-and-effect relationships between human activities and environmental impacts. The goal is to popularize climate science and initiate discussions on solutions.
Process and duration
The workshop generally lasts 3 hours and is divided into three main phases. The first consists of laying out the cards and identifying the cause-effect links. Then, time is devoted to discussions between participants on possible solutions and individual or collective actions. The last phase is a broader reflection on the commitments that each person can make.
Why is it essential ?
Faced with the climate emergency, it is crucial to understand in depth the mechanisms that contribute to global warming. This workshop helps to demystify concepts that are often perceived as complex, thus promoting better appropriation by citizens. The more people are informed, the more they can act in an informed manner to reduce their ecological impact.
Key scientific facts
The Climate Fresk draws on the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Participants discover the links between greenhouse gas emissions, rising global temperatures, extreme events (droughts, storms) and biodiversity loss. Each map is based on robust data from IPCC reports and other recognized scientific institutions.
