ENERGY FRESK
Workshop that helps to understand current energy challenges and ways to transition to sustainable energies.
Key scientific facts
The workshop draws on data from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and other scientific institutions that show that the energy sector is responsible for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Figures also illustrate the environmental and financial costs of dependence on fossil fuels and highlight the potential of renewable energies to limit these impacts.
Process and duration
The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours and is divided into three main parts. The first consists of exploring the different energy sources, fossil and renewable. The second phase deals with the environmental and climatic impacts of the different forms of energy. Finally, participants discuss solutions to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and improve energy efficiency, both at the individual and collective levels.
What is it about ?
The Energy Fresco allows you to better understand the issues related to energy production and consumption, as well as their impacts on the environment. By reconstructing the different stages of energy supply, participants learn to differentiate between fossil and renewable energy sources and the challenges associated with each.
Why is it essential ?
The energy transition is an essential pillar in the fight against climate change. By better understanding energy sources, their limitations and impacts, participants can adopt more responsible behaviours and support policies that promote a transition to renewable energy. Understanding energy issues is also essential to improve the resilience of societies to energy crises.
