MOBILITY FRESK
Interactive workshop that raises awareness of the environmental impacts of our modes of transport and proposes sustainable mobility solutions.
Key scientific facts
Participants draw on reports such as those from the International Energy Agency (IEA), which show that the transport sector is responsible for around 25% of global CO2 emissions. Data also reveals that the electrification of vehicles could reduce emissions from the sector by 60% by 2050 if ambitious policies are put in place to promote electric vehicles and associated infrastructure.
Process and duration
The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours and is structured in three parts. First, participants learn to analyze the different modes of transport in terms of greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption. Then, they discuss the social and economic issues of mobility, such as access to transport or territorial inequalities. The last phase focuses on solutions, such as the electrification of vehicles, public transport and cycle paths.
What is it about ?
The Mobility Fresk is a collaborative workshop that helps understand the impact of different modes of transport on the environment and the climate. Participants are invited to explore the challenges of current mobility (private car, aviation, maritime transport) and to think about solutions to adopt more environmentally friendly modes of transport, such as soft and shared mobility.
Why is it essential ?
Mobility is responsible for a large proportion of greenhouse gas emissions, mainly due to combustion vehicles and aviation. It is therefore crucial to transform our modes of transport to reduce these emissions. The workshop raises awareness of the importance of adopting sustainable transport solutions, such as carpooling, electric vehicles, and soft mobility infrastructure, to limit our carbon footprint and improve the quality of life in urban areas.
