Danone: Scaling Climate Literacy with 2tonnes Workshops
Context
Danone wanted to engage its teams in understanding climate challenges and the role both individuals and organisations play in the transition to a low-carbon future. The goal was to move from high-level awareness to concrete reflection on what could be done internally.
Objectives
Help participants grasp the orders of magnitude of decarbonisation, identify levers of action at individual and collective level, and reflect on what Danone can do internally to contribute to climate objectives.
Intervention
Step 1
2tonnes workshop: Deliver the simulation workshop exploring measures to reduce the environmental footprint. Identify practical actions that can be implemented at Danone. Quantify the impact of different levers to guide priorities. Put each participant in an active decision-making posture.
Step 2
Debrief and action discussion: Facilitate discussion on personal and organisational climate actions. Identify the key levers to reduce carbon footprints in the Danone context. Open the reflection on behavioural and systemic changes. Translate the simulation insights into concrete next steps.
Step 3
Inclusive pedagogical approach: Use simplified, visual, and practical content suited to participants in training. Alternate group work and guided discussions. Keep the sessions accessible for diverse profiles within the teams. Make sure every participant leaves with one concrete action in mind.
Step 4
Connection to organisational practices: Link the workshop to other modules on energy, waste, and adjacent topics. Position the 2tonnes session as the first step in a broader green transition path. Scope a train-the-trainer programme to enable internal facilitation. Plan the rollout of the programme at scale within Danone.
