Capability as a Service
Plug & play sustainability and transition expertise, embedded in your teams.

We provide seasoned consultants - sustainability specialists and transition profiles alike - who integrate directly into your organisation. From hands-on support to strategic leadership, scaled to your actual needs.
The right expertise, at the right level, at the right time
Building an effective sustainability or transition capability takes diverse skills and senior experience. But not every organisation can justify a full-time team from day one, and even those that can often face months of recruitment for niche profiles.
Our Capability as a Service model gives you immediate access to qualified consultants who join your committees, attend your meetings and work as part of your team. Not a deliverable you commission, but capacity you direct: you scale up or down based on your needs, and every embedded consultant comes backed by Bleen’s full methodology and specialist network.
More than a consultant. A full ecosystem.

Four levels of embedded support
Every organisation has different needs and maturity levels. Our profiles cover the full spectrum, from hands-on analysis to board-level leadership.

Elia: Selecting a CSRD Reporting Platform for Grid Operations
Selecting a CSRD Reporting Platform for Grid Operations. Elia ran a structured selection process to find a reporting tool that fits its CSRD obligations. We led the scoping, benchmark, RFP, and vendor evaluation across five phases, closing with a shortlist ready for contracting and a digitisation roadmap for CSRD datapoints.
Common questions
Traditional consulting delivers a report and leaves. CaaS embeds a Bleen professional inside your organization for months at a time. They attend your meetings, use your tools, coordinate your teams, and own deliverables alongside your staff. You get the depth of an internal hire with the flexibility of an external contract. The consultant stays until the work is done, not until the slide deck is delivered.
Start from your gap. If you lack strategic direction and ESG governance, you need a CSO. If you need deep technical work on a single topic (carbon assessment, biodiversity diagnostic, CSRD compliance), bring in an Expert. If you have a roadmap but no one to drive execution across departments, a Project Manager fits. If your data is scattered and your reporting deadlines are approaching, start with an Analyst. Most clients begin with one profile and add others as the scope becomes clear.
Yes, and many clients do. A typical combination is a CSO for strategic steering paired with an Analyst for data collection and reporting. Another common setup: an Expert running a carbon assessment while a Project Manager coordinates the broader ESG program. Each profile has a defined scope. Bleen manages the coordination between them so you deal with one team, not separate contractors.
It depends on the profile. CSO engagements start at 12 months, because building governance and running a full reporting cycle takes at least that long. Expert missions can be as short as 6 weeks for a focused diagnostic. Project Manager and Analyst engagements typically run 6 to 18 months, aligned with your program timeline. There is no multi-year lock-in: engagements renew or adjust at each milestone.
Pricing is based on the number of days per month and the seniority of the profile. A CSO at 3 to 5 days per month costs a fraction of a full-time hire. Expert missions are scoped and priced per deliverable. You receive a detailed proposal with a fixed monthly or project fee before any commitment.
Every engagement includes a handover phase. The consultant documents processes, transfers tools and templates, and trains your internal team to maintain the work. The goal is your autonomy, not dependency. If you need lighter ongoing support after the main engagement (for example, 1 day per month during reporting season), Bleen offers reduced-pace formats. About 70% of CaaS clients extend or renew in some form.
Both. The default format is hybrid: on-site presence on agreed days (typically for steering committees, workshops, and stakeholder meetings) and remote work for analysis, reporting, and coordination. The split depends on the profile and mission. CSOs and Project Managers tend to be on-site 60 to 70% of the time. Experts and Analysts work remotely more often, with on-site sessions for data collection and presentations.
