A 3-hour collaborative workshop that uses collective intelligence to explore discrimination mechanisms and discover inclusive approaches for organizations and society.

The Workshop

Diversity Fresco is a cooperative educational experience that brings together groups of 4-10 participants to collectively examine issues of discrimination and inclusion. Co-created by ESSEC and Belugames in 2021, this workshop is inspired by the Climate Fresk methodology and uses a set of concept cards to help participants understand the cognitive mechanisms underlying discrimination, while discovering evidence-based approaches to reduce it.

Why It Matters

Understanding diversity, discrimination, and inclusion mechanisms is essential for creating more cohesive organizations and inclusive societies. By building a common vocabulary and identifying practical fields of action, participants gain the power to actively work against systemic inequalities and foster cultures of equality and peaceful coexistence in their workplaces and communities.

Good to Know

The workshop has been deployed across France including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, and Toulouse, as well as in overseas territories and internationally. Participants work through successive rounds of concept cards introduced via mini-games, allowing groups to collaboratively construct logical connections and debate the scope and limits of different inclusive approaches.

What to Expect

The 3-hour workshop follows a structured progression where concept cards are distributed in successive lots, each introduced by engaging mini-games. Participants in small groups work collaboratively to establish connections between concepts, fostering collective understanding of how stereotypes and discriminatory dynamics operate. The session concludes with discussion, shared insights, and identification of concrete actions participants can take within their own contexts.
